Project Director

Contract: Full-time, permanent contract, hybrid working (1 day a week in London)

Context

As we enter a critical window for transformative climate action from the creative industries, we’re seeking a driven and experienced Project Director to lead a portfolio of Purpose Disruptors projects within our ‘Create’ pillar of work including the Good Life 2030 project, Agency for Nature and Reimagining Advertising.

This role is central to Purpose Disruptors’ work. As the lead person at the heart of these projects, you’ll be running the process, asking the right questions and orchestrating the moving parts. It requires plenty of initiative, a can-do attitude and you should be comfortable making informed decisions on your own. You’ll be a project management mastermind - someone who relishes in motivating a team to deliver across the project cycle, enjoys spinning many plates and most importantly completing things and getting them out in the world.

In this role, you’ll guide complex multi-faceted initiatives that engage leading advertising agencies, media companies and platforms, global brands, insight groups and awards bodies. Workstreams span creative multi-channel campaigns, exhibitions, events, insight reports, workshops and learning programmes. 

You’ll work closely with philanthropic foundations as funders and collaborators, as well as partners in the broader media and entertainment industries, civil society groups, academia and occasionally the Government and the UN. 

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to leverage your experience leading multi-stakeholder programmes and partnerships, using your skills to ensure maximum impact and developing ways to measure and report on achievements

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning:

  • Developing ambitious yet feasible plans that achieve the project goals and objectives.

  • Assembling and leading project teams, including partners, consultants and people across the advertising ecosystem and beyond.

  • Working with our team to identify resource requirements. Identifying and agreeing on the KPIs to track the impact and success of the project.


    Project Delivery:

  • Managing multiple simultaneous projects, programmes and campaigns through all stages of the project life cycle.

  • Continuously anticipating, Identifying and managing opportunities, issues and risks, escalating to relevant people where appropriate.

  • Ensuring all project and campaign activities are delivered on time, within scope and budget, using project management systems and detailed reporting. 

  • Evaluating and assessing the results of the project against the key performance indicators.


    Stakeholder Management:

  • Providing status updates on the project to key senior stakeholders, including philanthropic funders and partners.

  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and a network of external partners. 

  • Occasionally representing Purpose Disruptors at external events and conferences.

    Relevant Knowledge and Experience

  • A proven track record in managing complex projects and campaigns, using project management systems, e.g. Monday.com (essential) 

  • Excellent relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills (essential)

  • Experience in timeline and budget management (essential)

  • A demonstrated passion for climate, nature and sustainability work, e.g. experience, training or other voluntary commitments (essential)

  • Knowledge and understanding of the advertising, media and marketing industry in the UK (desirable) 

  • Previous experience working with Trusts and Foundations, e.g. proposal writing, funder liaison and grant reporting (desirable)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
