Purpose Disruptors Ireland

OUR IRISH CHAPTER SUPPORTS THE PURPOSE DISRUPTOR MISSION WITH AN ACTIVE COMMUNITY….

Established in 2020 with The Great Reset, Purpose Disruptors Ireland was started by individuals from competing agencies bound by a common goal - to meaningfully mobilise the industry’s climate transition.

The Purpose Disruptors Ireland host regular events and gatherings with a fast-growing community of over 400 individuals, supporting connection and action across the Irish creative communications network.

Core team & CONTRIBUTORS

The Irish chapter of Purpose Disruptors was co-founded by core team members Laura Costello, Colette Henry, Eimear Fitzmaurice and Thomas Geoghegan. We are all full-time agency employees, working in Irish-based creative agencies and media agencies at a senior level. We support this community and work on a volunteer basis. Between us we have qualifications in sustainability from Cambridge University and Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project. But it’s not really about us.

Our community is growing daily. Within the community there are a number of key contributors who’ve committed time, resource, support and effort for free and we are very grateful for their ongoing commitment to making this happen. They include: Laura Wall, Trudi McDonald, Padraig McKeon, Sharon Edge, Sandy Boundy, Jessika Fok, Vivienne Flood and more…

Launched on 10th February 2022

Toward the end of 2021, Purpose Disruptors Ireland PR working group undertook primary research among Irish PR communications practitioners to benchmark sentiment and thinking around sustainability in PR and Communications in Ireland.  The research aim was to identify the challenges, concerns and opportunities for change around sustainability in the PR & Communications industry in this country. The intent is that this report and its findings will provoke a discussion and help inform communications professionals, individually and collectively, on what next steps the industry should take to build sustainability into their work, with a schedule of follow up workshops, events and talks to be organised throughout 2022.

EVENT RECAP: SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP with ali sheridan

What kind of leadership does the world need right now?  The need for the creative communications industry to adopt a leadership role in the context of climate and sustainability was revealed in our Great Reset work last year. We found that 90% of the population think it is the advertising and creative (communications) industry's responsibility to encourage more sustainable behaviours, like during lockdown.

Over 50 members of the marketing, advertising, PR & communications industry in Ireland got together in March, to learn more about what it means to be a sustainability leader today. Read more here.
